FAQs

When will books be available to purchase?
Textbooks for Fall/Spring are usually available two weeks before the semester begins. Textbooks for Winter/Summer are usually available one week before the semester begins.

How long will my online order take?
You will be notified when your order is processed. Most orders are received in 3-5 business days.

I need help with accessing my RedShelf class materials.
Visit https://solve.redshelf.com/ for support and troubleshooting resources for your digital course materials.

I have a hold on my account that prevents me from enrolling, what can I do?
Log in to your SIS student portal and pay online if that option is available. If you cannot pay online, contact or visit the Business Office for help with next steps.

How do I use my EOP&S book grant?
Follow the instructions provided by the EOP&S office and bring the documentation required for your award. If your purchase total is higher than your approved amount, you will need to pay the remaining balance.

I'm a veteran student. How do I pick up my books and supplies?
Please coordinate with the Veterans office before visiting the store, then bring any required paperwork when you come in. Coverage limits may apply depending on your approved benefits.

When is buyback?
The Pierce College Store is not currently buying back textbooks.

How can I reach someone from the college store if the answer to my question is not in the FAQs?
Email us at bookstore@piercecollege.edu and our team will be glad to help.

My access code doesn't work. What should I do?
Start with your instructor in case there is a course-specific setup step. If that does not solve the issue, contact the publisher's access-code support line listed on the card or packaging. If the publisher directs you back to the bookstore, please provide the support representative's name, your case number, your course, your instructor's name, and your contact information so we can follow up.

The access code I received is not for my class. Can I exchange it?
Access codes are not eligible for return or exchange.

What if I drop my class, how do I return my books?
You must return your books by the posted return deadline. Return windows are usually about five days after the start of Fall and Spring terms and about three days after the start of Winter and Summer terms.

Will books be available for rent and if so, how do I return the book once the term is over?
Rental availability varies by title. If a book is offered as a rental, your receipt will include the return deadline and return instructions.

I don't see the book my instructor has on their syllabus. Why isn't it listed?
The most common reason is that the course material request has not been submitted or finalized yet. Ask your instructor to contact the bookstore's book buyer for an update.

My book says "see instructor first." What does that mean?
It usually means your instructor may be using OER (Open Educational Resources), a free online text, no textbook, or a course material request that has not yet been finalized.

I see my book, but I only want the access code. Can I buy the access code by itself?
If a standalone access-code option is not listed, we may only have the format requested by your instructor. Contact the store if you need help confirming the available options for your class.

What if my instructor says I need to buy digital course materials directly?
Some digital materials must be purchased directly through the publisher or through a link provided by your instructor. If you are unsure which option applies to your class, contact the store before purchasing.

Can the bookstore special-order a digital product for me?
In some cases, we may be able to special-order a digital item. Pricing and availability depend on the publisher's terms, so direct purchase may sometimes be the faster or lower-cost option.

What do I need to do to get a new U-Pass?
Please contact the Business Office for current U-Pass instructions and eligibility requirements.

My U-Pass is not working, is there anyone who can help me with it?
Please contact the Business Office for assistance with U-Pass support and next steps.

Can I get cash back?
We do not allow cash back.

Where is the nearest ATM?
The ATM is located in the bookstore.

Do you accept checks?
We do not accept checks.
Do you accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay?
Yes, we accept all of them.

Can I purchase scantrons from the café or food items from the bookstore?
Yes. You can also purchase non-book items from CopyTech.

If my book is not in stock, does that mean you won't have it again?
Not necessarily. The book may already be on order, and in some cases you may be able to place a special order through the store.

Where do I get my student ID from?
You can get your student ID from CopyTech.

I pre-ordered a book when can I come to pick it up?
We will contact you when your pre-order is ready for pickup.

I noticed my credit card was charged twice. How can I request a refund?
Please contact the bookstore immediately: 818-719-6420 or bookstore@piercecollege.edu
